Job Description:

Position Objective and Specific Tasks.

A new vaccination initiative is being launched to enhance immunization services both demand generation and service delivery in remote and underserved communities. This project requires a dedicated District Coordinator to manage and harmonize immunization activities within the assigned district.

This position, reporting to the Project Coordinator, will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of immunization activities within the assigned district. The role will ensure that all project objectives, particularly those related to achieving zero-dose coverage, are effectively met.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee immunization activities in the assigned district.
  • Ensure project goals align with national immunization strategies and targets.
  • Monitor vaccination coverage, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with District health authorities, DEOC, field teams, and stakeholders to strengthen immunization efforts.
  • Attend & participate in monthly District EPI review meetings.
  • Participate in weekly meeting planned by the Project Coordinator.
  • Ensure timely collection, verification, and reporting of immunization data.
  • Support community engagement initiatives to increase vaccine acceptance and coverage.
  • Identify challenges in implementation and propose solutions to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with project guidelines and health protocols.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on immunization progress and outcomes.
  • Assist Project Coordinator in developing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Coordinate with the field team for the timely collection of monthly, quarterly, and yearly work plans and all relevant reports.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of data and reports.
  • Prepare data for processing by organizing information, checking for inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data.
  • Provide other support as required and assigned by the supervisor.

Educational Requirements and Skills. 

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum four years of experience in field management, preferably in the health sector.
  • Prior experience in health sector NGOs is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate field teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office and data management tools.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with a willingness to travel for fieldwork.
  • Well-versed in database management systems and data handling.
  • Working across departments and fostering strong team dynamics.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including document management and structured filing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
