Job Purpose

The Gender & PSEAH officer (Female) is responsible for implementation of gender and protection agenda to be integrated into ORGANIZATION’s Humanitarian and development programming, ensures commitments towards gender mainstreaming and PSEAH in ORGANIZATION target districts of Balochistan. Responsible for implementation of all Gender and development section’s activities for promoting gender equality and women's empowerment within Organization and projects in planning, implementation, monitoring phases of project including reporting. The Gender Officer will be responsible for ensuring that gender equality is integrated into all aspects of the emergencies, construction, development, and protection related projects of ORGANIZATION. This role will also involve to support in developing and implementing gender-sensitive approaches, policies, and activities that address the specific needs of women, men, and marginalized gender groups

Placement and reporting line of position:

  • This position will be placed in Gender and development section and based in ORGANIZATION -HO (Quetta) with frequent travel to all focused districts of ORGANIZATION
  • Position will be reporting to Manager Gender and Development – ORGANIZATION and will work under supervision of manager G&D 

 Responsibilities of position:

1)       Technical: (Gender Integration)

  • Ensure that gender considerations are incorporated into all aspects of project planning, gender analysis, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Develop gender-sensitive frameworks and Promote gender-responsive policies and strategies across all programme components.
  • Development of concept notes related to gender and development aspects

2)       Capacity Building and Awareness sessions

  • Organise and Conduct training and workshops for project staff, stakeholders, and local communities to enhance gender and (Preventing Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment) PSEAH awareness at district level (All focused districts of ORGANIZATION’s programming)
  • Develop sessions and material on gender, protection and inclusion related capacity building programme  

3)       Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with line departments. NGOs and other stakeholders to advocate for gender-inclusive interventions (when and where required)
  • Coordinate and participate in community-level consultations to ensure that gender perspectives are considered

4)       Monitoring and Evaluation, Research and Reporting:

  • Develop gender-sensitive indicators for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of project activities.
  • Regularly assess the impact of the project on gender equality and recommend adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Conduct gender analysis to identify gender-specific needs and vulnerabilities
  • Prepare reports with all required MoVs , case studies, and documentation related to gender and PSEAH interventions and efforts.
  • Collection of gender and PSEAH related data from different sections and gender and PSEAH committees and districts for regular gender assessments and reports
  • Preparation of meeting minutes and note for record

5)       Collaboration and Networking:

  • Collaborate with other sectoral officers to integrate gender perspectives into different aspects of the project.
  • Participation in networks meeting

6)       Operational:

  • Preparation of weekly / monthly work plans by ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in stipulated time period.
  • Preparation of budget of activities (When required)
  • Maintenance of hard record that includes field visits reports, meeting minutes, data, record & other documentation.
  • Close coordination with line manager and other programme/ sections   for effective implementation of gender inclusive initiatives.

7)       Organizational:

  • Ensure compliance with ORGANIZATION ’s policies & procedures in true spirit for effective delivery of services to communities.
  • In depth understanding of ORGANIZATION values and their demonstration in the field while working with communities.
  • Abide by the ORGANIZATION zero tolerance policy towards Sexual Exploitation, abuse and Harassment.
  • Assist in identification & documentation of Organizational successes for show casing ORGANIZATION work
  • Focused efforts to be made for mainstreaming of marginalized groups i.e. Persons with disability and old age, minorities, Women & children etc in consultation & implementation of activities at ground.
  • Perform all other activities beside above-mentioned tasks as assigned by manager gender and development

 Key performance indicators:

  • Preparation of Monthly, Quarterly and annual work planning (section and field level) and implementation of gender, Protection and PSEAH workplan at HO and field level
  • Strong coordination with district teams and frequent travel to focused districts for field level activities
  • Development of trainings and session plans, material for capacity building and awareness raising programmes and conduct Capacity Building and awareness sessions with communities in focused districts of ORGANIZATION on gender, inclusion, PSEAH and relevant topics
  • Weekly, monthly and Quarterly in-time reporting (with all MoVs) including impact studies/ impact reports of gender and development section’ activities, updating and maintaing the record of activities
  • Gender and PSEAH related Data collection and data management

 PERSON SPECIFICATION

It essential that position holder has a sound understanding on gender mainstreaming, inclusion and PSEAH

post holder shows a good understanding and sympathy with the Organizational values & principles, vision and mission as well as commitment to its PSEAH (preventing sexual exploitation abuse and harassment) protocols. ORGANIZATION has a zero-tolerance policy towards PSEAH and don’t support any action that promotes or encourages PSEAH.

Required Skills and Qualification

  • Excellent Computer skills (word, Excel and data analysis , PowerPoint and in- page) including online correspondence
  • Excellent Reporting and communication skills
  • Coordination skills
  • Language skills (English, Urdu for writing and content development and local language will be an additional skill to be considered to interact with communities in districts of Balochistan

 Qualification:

  • Minimum 16 years of education in social sciences or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience of relevant job experience as mentioned in Job description
