Background of the Consultancy

Building Resilience and Addressing Vulnerability to Emergencies (BRAVE) Project, implemented by LASOONA in collaboration with Welthungerhilfe (WHH), in District Nowshera which is one of the most climate-vulnerable district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Through this initiative, the project has made significant strides in promoting community resilience to climate-induced disasters such as floods and droughts, while empowering marginalized groups, particularly women, to lead and participate in adaptation efforts. Over the course of implementation, BRAVE has introduced transformative practices including the formation of Village Climate Adaptation Forums (VCAFs), implementation of climate-resilient & Climate smart agricultural techniques, afforestation using the Miyawaki method, early warning dissemination systems, and gender-sensitive livelihood support. Women, youth, persons with disabilities, and local institutions have all played key roles in shaping and sustaining these efforts.

As the project approaches its completion phase, there is a vital need to capture these impacts and successes visually. A professionally produced documentary will not only preserve the story of BRAVE but will serve as a compelling advocacy and learning tool for stakeholders, government bodies, donors, and the community. It will highlight community transformation, innovation, resilience, and the vital leadership role played by women in climate action.
